Please restore the Thomaston Dam Off-road Riding Season

It’s time to speak your mind about the United States Army Corps of Engineer’s decision to shorten the off-road riding season at the Thomaston Dam Project in Thomaston CT.  It is imperative that you are respectful and concise in your message and that you present clear and to-the-point arguments against a shortened riding reason.

Forward this page to your riding family. Respectfully speak up. If you enjoy riding at the Thomaston Dam, this campaign is imperative to your right to ride.

  • • TD is the only LEGAL riding area for off-road dirt bikes in the State of CT

    • There are NO legal places to ride in NY and NJ. You travel great distances to ride TD.

    • This is a reductions of 40% of riding days and more the 42% of riding weekends

    • Other regional Army Corp projects like Hodges Village Dam and Hopkinton-Everett are open almost year-round.

    • Local business are hurt by a shortened season. Restaurants, gas stations, Roost Powersports and Superfly motorcycle shops, etc

    • Not every kid plays soccer or baseball. My kids ride dirt bikes.

    • Thomaston EMTs and Volunteer Fire Department benefit annually from Pathfinder events

    • No better family time than riding with my friends and family

    • You give back to the US Army Corp by volunteering your time to repair the trails

    • Paying local property taxes and CT registration does not help the US Army Corp. Leave that out of your argument
